KTM has officially pulled the covers off its new 990 RC R Track, a machine engineered from the ground up for serious track day enthusiasts and aspiring racers. Unlike its street-legal sibling, the 990 RC R, this 'Track' version is not homologated for road use, focusing purely on delivering adrenaline-fueled performance in a controlled environment.
Built on the technical foundation of the high-spec 990 RC R supersport, the Track variant comes ready to race, available in a single colorway designed for easy application of sponsor decals. KTM emphasizes its value as an accessible entry point into circuit activity, offering strong dealer support and ease of maintenance.
Key differences setting the 990 RC R Track apart include a dedicated track electronics package for enhanced power and torque, a minimalist dashboard displaying only essential information, and a specialized color-injection molded fairing kit. Riders will also benefit from increased adjustability in ergonomics, with options for the steering damper and footpegs, and the bike comes standard with high-performance Michelin Power Slick 2 race tires. Powering the machine is a 947 cc LC8c parallel-twin engine, producing a claimed 133 hp and 77 lb-ft of torque, ensuring competitive performance on any circuit.
